Thanks to the generous donation of Katalin Karikó, the official copy of her Nobel Prize has been on display in the ground-floor exhibition space of the SZTE Klebelsberg Library since April 2024. The exhibition also features special personal relics and a wide range of content.
It offers a look into childhood memories, such as Katalin Karikó’s school pencil case, her camera, and her certificates from school competitions. The most important milestones from her university years: university gradebook, her degree in biology, her thesis, and her doctoral dissertation. Alongside the objects exhibited, we can also follow her life story and the adventurous journey that led to the discovery of the mRNA molecule. You can also explore the stages of Katalin Karikó’s personal and scientific life in an interactive virtual exhibition.
Many of Katalin Karikó’s prizes and awards are also on display, crowned by the Nobel Prize in the central showcase.
The exhibition is open free of charge during the opening hours of the SZTE Klebelsberg Library.
