AI-based research assistant at ProQuest

From November 2024, users of the University of Szeged are able to use the ProQuest Research Assistant, which will assist in the understanding and assesment of full-text peer-reviewed journal articles available in the ProQuest One Academic database. While viewing and article in the database, the Research Assistant will appear in the right sidebar, providing the following help to search, understand and explore publications:

  • Additional keywords suggestion: after running a search in the database, additional possible search terms are suggested under the search box,
  • Explore Suggested Sources: suggests additional literature based on the publication, which can be directly accessed and read in the database,
  • Additional indexing terms related to the document: to search for additional publications related to the topics on which the article is based, the relevant subject headings are collected and made searchable from the sidebar,
  • Key takeaway: a short summary of the research and its results discussed in the article,
  • Suggested research topic: suggests further research topics related to the publication, for which a pre-compiled search can be used to find literature,
  • Important concepts addressed in the article: bullet points summarising the key issues addressed in the communication and a brief summary of their relevance to the article. A pre-built search will also help you to find further literature related to the topics.

A video demonstrating how to use the ProQuest Research Assistant can be found here and the FAQ be found here.
