In 2011 the SZTE (University of Szeged) Klebelsberg Library set out on a road to quality management and as a part of that venture, it conducts reader satisfaction surveys annually. The survey this year took place between 14-20 October offering our readers an online questionnaire covering the complete array of our services. It is to our great pleasure that a great number of our readers responded to our call and we can conclude that the idea that the Klebelsberg Library provide high quality services is just as important to our patrons as to us. The questionnaire including 50 questions was filled in by 1680 readers in Hungarian (1652 ) and in English (28). It was especially welcome that around 700 people shared their verbal reviews with us.
The survey covered the following areas in terms of our readers’ satisfaction with the Library:
- general use of the library (in the library, with remote access; frequency; etc.)
- specific services: our stock, journals, reading rooms, circulation, requests from stacks, computers, wifi, the catalog, electronic content, proxy.
- information services in general: website, screens, posters, tours.
- helpfulness of the librarians (circulation, inquiry desk, reading rooms, operators).
- PR-activity: programs, quizzes, games, open library nights, events, exhibitions.
The survey provided us with a lot of lessons to learn as we could receive first-hand feedback on our services and on the efficiency of our work. We at the SZTE Klebelsberg Library value our readers’ responses very highly, as, in light your feedback, they make it possible for us to improve the current level of our services and to tailor our future developments to your needs. We would like to thank, therefore, all of you who completed the questionnaire.
