About our data protection ambitions

The University of Szeged Klebelsberg Library (hereinafter referred to as Library) pays particularly great attention to the management of the personal data of our users (patrons), generated by acquiring Library membership through registration, by data movements associated with this process, furthermore, by the use of the services the Library’s homepage offer or any other document providing services (e.g. repositories). We also consider the legal concerns and problems arising from digitised data to be of great importance, should they be about copyright or privacy. Beyond the legal regulations our aim is to take our users’ remarks into consideration in a manner that besides maintaining our stable and extensive services the data protection of our patrons should be enhanced.

The Library carries out its data management in accordance with the legislations and legal regulations, such as the Act CXII of 2011 on the right to information self-determination and freedom of information, and other pertinent legislations. In addition, the established practices of data protection in the course of the activity of the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information are also significant. Our Library takes into consideration and applies those issues which were defined by the Regulation 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation, abbreviated as GDPR) of the European Parliament and Council and of course, regards the University of Szeged’s Policy of Data Protection and the Knowledge and Publication of Data of Public Interest currently in force as a guidance.

Please read our full Privacy Policy Statement here.
